Integrated security that protects what matters the most

Effective security is designed in, not added on. PTS plans and designs physical security solutions that protect people, assets and operations, taking a project from threat and risk assessment through strategy, system design and implementation. Because we align security with the wider building and digital infrastructure, the result is integrated, compliant and proportionate to the risk it addresses. That covers electronic security systems, access control, video management, intruder or perimeter detection, plus hostile vehicle mitigation. Our end to end approach supports resilience, everyday usability and long term effectiveness, so security performs as intended well beyond handover.

Security strategy grounded in real risk

Before any system is specified, PTS establishes what needs protecting and the threats it faces. We carry out threat, vulnerability and risk assessments, define operational requirements and apply principles such as Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED) to shape a security strategy and master plan. This sets the direction early, so investment is targeted where it matters and every measure earns its place, rather than defaulting to over specified systems or leaving gaps. The outcome is a strategy that stands up to scrutiny, with clear, defensible reasons behind every decision.

Frequently asked questions

The five questions we answer before every physical and electronic security engagement. If yours isn’t here, book 30 minutes and put it to us directly.

Martyn’s Law, also known as the Protect Duty, is proposed UK legislation intended to improve preparedness and protection against terrorist threats in publicly accessible locations.

For many organisations, this may mean reviewing existing security measures, operational procedures, staff training and incident response planning to demonstrate proportionate risk management. Physical security strategies are likely to play an increasingly important role in supporting compliance and operational resilience.

Many organisations operate legacy security systems that no longer align with current risks, compliance requirements or operational needs. A physical security assessment can identify gaps in areas such as access control, surveillance coverage, incident response and system integration, while benchmarking existing infrastructure against current industry standards and future business requirements.

AI is increasingly being used within physical security systems to improve monitoring, response times and operational insight. This can include intelligent video analytics, behavioural detection, occupancy monitoring, perimeter protection and automated alerting.

When implemented appropriately, AI can help security teams identify incidents more quickly, reduce false alarms and improve situational awareness, particularly across large or complex estates.

The earlier the better. Security requirements often impact architecture, access strategies, infrastructure, operational workflows and user experience.

Appointing a security consultant during early design stages helps ensure physical and electronic security measures are integrated properly into the wider project, reducing redesign risk and supporting smoother coordination through construction and delivery.

Bringing security consultants into projects early helps ensure physical and electronic security requirements are coordinated with architecture, M&E design and construction delivery. This reduces the risk of costly redesigns, integration challenges and operational gaps later in the project. Early collaboration also helps ensure security infrastructure supports compliance, operational continuity and future expansion plans.
